All travelers to the United States are required to present negative test for COVID-19 . The test is to be carried out the day before departure, the United States Embassy in Lomé announced today.
The new rule, which only applies to travelers aged 2 and over, came into effect from Monday, December 6, 2021 until further notice.
Previously, travelers had 72 hours to take the test.
The new rule is one in a series of measures designed to stop the spread of the omicron COVID-19 variant in the United States.
Earlier this week, US health officials reported that Omicron has already spread to about a third of US states.
