The U.S. Embassy in Lomé on Tuesday urged Togolese students to learn about the criteria and apply for the Fulbright and Humphrey scholarship programs for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The exchange Programs section promotes bilateral understanding between Togo and the United States via a variety of educational and other exchanges.

It administers scholarship programs such as; The Fulbright Program provides scholarships to Togolese graduate students to study in the United States as well as supporting U.S. students studying in Togo, and U.S. professors who spend a semester or a year teaching in Togo.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program permits senior employees in both the public and private sectors to spend up to a year in the United States for non-university studies combined with internships in companies or organizations in their professional field.

The International Visitor Leadership Program brings Togolese leaders in many fields to the United States for two to three-week programs in areas of their interest.

Some of these are “group” or “area” programs in which the Togolese participant joins others from different countries of Africa or the world to study U.S. experience with education, public health, community organization, national and local politics, protection of the environment or many other subjects.

For further information, those who are concerned are therefore invited to contact the exchange and cultural programs’ section at the Public Affairs section of the U.S. Embassy in Lomé, Togo.
