Togo prepares to host Pan-African Poultry Conference

More than 300 participants are expected at the second Pan-African Poultry Conference that Togo will host from May 16 to 18, 2023. The event is co-organized by the Regional Center of Excellence on Avian Sciences and the World Poultry Science Association (WPSA).

The meeting will be under the theme: “Competitiveness and inclusiveness of the value chain of the poultry sector in Africa”.

Discussions will focus on the challenges of poultry production in Africa, the environment and production systems, feeding, nutrition and metabolism, reproduction and incubation, product quality, processing and food safety , but also on the economics of production.

At the conference, strategies will be defined to improve the competitiveness of the sector on the continent.

According to the Togolese government, poultry production could create more than 150,000 jobs in the country by 2025.
