Togo announces delay of the 9th Pan-African Congress

Initially scheduled to take place from October 29 to November 2 in Lomé, the 9th Pan-African Congress has been postponed to a later date, according to an official statement from the Togolese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.

The event, centered on the theme “Revitalizing Pan-Africanism and Africa’s Role in Reforming Multilateral Institutions: Mobilizing Resources and Reimagining Action,” was set to bring together Africans and members of the African diaspora to discuss key issues related to the continent’s future.

Online registration had already been launched for participants, however the congress will no longer take place on the originally planned dates.

Ahead of the congress, several preparatory conferences were held across the continent and abroad, engaging the African diaspora. The final preparatory session took place in Brazil.
