Togo’s National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCy) has issued an urgent warning about a fraudulent website, www.nda-gov.org, linked to a fake entity called the National Development Association.
This website claims to offer business opportunities in Togo, including product marketing, national tenders, and administrative support. However, the ANCy confirms that this so-called association has no legal existence. It is a scam designed to steal money and personal data from unsuspecting users, particularly targeting the Togolese diaspora.
Cybercriminals exploit people’s aspirations for economic growth and market integration. Victims risk financial losses, identity theft, and other cybercrimes, warns the ANCy.
What makes this scam even more alarming is its international reach. It preys on Togolese both at home and abroad, taking advantage of globalization and digital trust. Many members of the diaspora looking to invest in Togo could face serious financial setbacks if deceived.
The Minister of Civil Protection urges “collective vigilance”, emphasizing that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility.
If you have interacted with this site or shared sensitive data, act immediately: Change your passwords and security codes. Contact your bank for any suspicious activity. Report the incident to relevant authorities.
In Togo, victims can reach the Cybersecurity Emergency Response Center (CERT.tg) at +228 70 54 93 25, via [email protected], or through www.cert.tg.
