As part of the Proframme Forward, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) sent a delegation to the Executive Committee of the Togolese Federation (FTF) on October 21 and 22, 2021 in Lomé.
The FIFA delegation mission to the FTF is part of the Forward Program.
The delegation included Céline Zigaul, manager of the FIFA development program for the Africa and Caribbean zone, accompanied by El Hadji Wack Diop, Director of the FIFA-West Africa Regional Office and Mr. Nataniel Nascimento Brito, FIFA Project Coordinator Development Office For West Africa Dakar, Senegal.
For two days, experts from the apex body of world football and FTF officials worked to optimize the use of funds from the Forward program in Togo.
As one of the most important development programs in football, FIFA Forward is designed to provide comprehensive and tailored support to member associations, regional unions and confederations.
The Forwad program has also enabled the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) to set up an operational technical block.
During their stay in Togo, FIFA experts visited on Thursday, October 21, the site that will house the National Technical Center (CTN) in Bagbé, a locality located nearly 40 km northwest of the Togolese capital.
It is the construction of this Technical Center that the FTF intends to submit for financing under the Forward program.
Following this field visit, the FIFA emissaries attended the presentation of the FTF’s strategic plan: Vision, missions, values and strategic axes.
The delegation also had a working session with the President of the Executive Committee, the Secretary General and the heads of departments of the FTF.
A meeting during which the administrative organization and the organization chart of the institution were presented. Discussions revolved around the organization of the National Technical Directorate and the Women’s Football Department.
The FIFA mission visited the Kégué stadium on Friday 22 October, where work is being done to install grandstand seats and other sports facilities in Lomé.
It was then received at 5 p.m. GMT by the Minister for Sports and Leisure, Dr Lidi Béssi-Kama in the presence of the President of the FTF, Col Guy Kossi Akpovy and its Secretary General, Mr. Chris Dakey.
At the end of the visit, the mission gratified the Executive Committee with its satisfaction.
