After being admitted to the Commonwealth Nations, Togo will make its official entry into the organization this Thursday, October 20, 2022.
It will be during a flag-raising ceremony organized at Marlborough House, the institution’s headquarters in London, in accordance with the practice.
On the sidelines of the “very important symbolism” of this event, Togo will hold a session, during which its main economic, cultural and social characteristics will be presented.
“The accession of our country is not only a diplomatic opportunity, which allows us to decompartmentalize our relations, but also an economic one since a new market of nearly two billion consumers is open to us”, recalled the Government Spokesperson, Akodah Ayewouadan.
Note that the flag of Gabon, a country admitted on the same day as Togo to the intergovernmental organization composed mostly of former British territories, was hoisted last Monday.
