The program Invest in Young Businesses in Africa (IYBA) is officially launched in Togo on Friday February 10, 2023. The project, which benefits from the support of the European Union (EU), aims to support micro, small and medium-sized businesses, in particular start-up companies.
The officials said the support will be provided through financial and technical assistance and the strengthening of organizations that support entrepreneurs.
The IYBA initiative is part of a perspective of “consolidation of all efforts at the country level in terms of support for entrepreneurs and VSMEs”, said the Minister in charge of financial inclusion and the organization of the informal sector, Mazamesso Assih.
According to the Head of the European Union delegation in Togo, Joaquin Tasso Vilallonga, the project will facilitate access to financing for businesses and strengthen cooperation between the West African country and the EU.
“This initiative will allow us as Team Europe to collaborate more closely with the Togolese government, the private sector and other technical and financial partners by perfectly aligning us with the objectives of the 2025 roadmap”, he specified.
