Togo has submitted the update of its improved emission reduction targets, contained in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) report, the executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Patricia Espinosa revealed on Thursday.
The following day after the submission, Togo has started to prepare for the participation in the World Climate Conference (COP26), which will take place in Glasgow, Scotland from October 31 to November 12.
Therefore, a consultation meeting was opened for this purpose in Lomé, bringing together the private sector, representatives of the government and civil society actors.
According to the government, the meeting should make it possible to harmonize the concrete elements which will fuel Togolese participation in this global meeting.
As a reminder, Togo aims to reduce between 11% and 31% of its greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
