Togo Soja opens its first soybean processing plant

Established within the Adetikopé Industrial Platform (PIA), the local soybean processing plant known as ‘Togo Soja’ has announced the achievement of its first production milestone by processing 50,000 tonnes of conventional soybeans.

Less than a year after the installation of its initial machinery, the local soybean processing plant known as ‘Togo Soja’ is now in full operation.

This development is regarded as a significant step in Togo’s agro-industrialization journey, paving the way for an increased production of domestic soybean oil. The government emphasizes that this will gradually reduce the need for edible oil imports.

According to the authorities, the Togo Soja plant, equipped with two processing units, required a substantial investment of over 165 billion FCFA, a little more than One billion US dollars. Ultimately, it is expected to create more than 350 jobs and process over 200,000 tonnes of soybeans annually.
