Togo becomes a full member of AIIB

Togo has officially become a full member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The membership was formalized during an official signing ceremony and flag-raising event held on September 4th in Beijing, presided over by the President of Togo.

This new status paves the way for Togo to secure financing for large-scale sustainable development projects in critical sectors such as health, education, energy, digital infrastructure, transportation, and water.

These developments align with the objectives of the AIIB, which was established nearly a decade ago under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Headquartered in Beijing, the AIIB currently has 119 member countries worldwide and supports a wide range of sectors, including transportation, energy, water and sanitation, urban development, and digital connectivity.
