British High Commissioner explores new trade partnerships with Togo

The Togolese head of State, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé met with the British High Commissioner to Togo, Harriet Thompson, on Wednesday in Lomé to discuss bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

Following the meeting, High Commissioner Thompson emphasized the growing interest of British businesses in the Togolese market. “We discussed cooperation in trade and business. Our companies are eager to collaborate with Togolese enterprises, engage in trade, and invest in the country,” she stated.

According to the presidential cabinet, the discussions also covered defense and security issues, particularly in the fight against terrorism in Togo and the wider West African region. Both parties explored avenues for experience-sharing to strengthen security efforts.
