On the night of Thursday, June 21, 2024, the village of Bamone, located in the Namoudjoga district of northern Togo, witnessed a violent attack attributed to suspected terrorists, according to reports by L’Alternative.
As detailed by this Togolese media outlet, now based in France, masked men stormed the village around 9 PM that Thursday. They brutally killed three civilians by slitting their throats. A fourth person, attempting to flee, was also shot dead.
The attackers stole mobile phones and money, and took several cattle belonging to three different herds.
“A fifth person was robbed of their money. These terrorists also took several cattle from three herds. They stole more phones and a sum of 90,000 FCFA [approximately 147 US Dollars],” reports L’Alternative.
