The Togolese authorities once again welcomed at Lomé airport this Sunday, new doses of vaccine against Covid-19, a donation from the United States of America.
Togo received 301,860 doses of Pfizer vaccine on October 17, 2021, bringing the total number of this vaccine received from the United States to 607,230.
The vaccines were received by the Minister of Health, Prof. Moustafa Mijiyawa, US Ambassador Eric Stromayer and high-level representatives from WHO, UNICEF and the National COVID-19 Response Coordination.
“The United States is committed to providing the world with life-saving vaccines for free,” the embassy said in a statement.
These vaccines, which arrived through COVAX, are part of the Biden-Harris administration’s global efforts to fight COVID-19.
