Togo-E-payment to fight against corruption.


The Togolese government examined on Wednesday a draft decree on digitization of payments in public services. An initiative which aims, among others, to fight against corruption.

The text was examined during Council of Ministers on Wednesday, February 18, 2021.

The project is part of the law relating to measures to promote banking access and the use of cashless means of payment.

This initiative aims mainly to promote the use of electronic means of payment within the administration, banking services, financial inclusion and the fight against corruption, money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

Once adopted, the decree will also strengthen Togo’s efforts in the field of the digitization of public services, financial inclusion and even mobile money.

  1. What a shithole country! You don’t have any good Internet connection and the communication is very expensive and you are talking about E-payment to fight against corruption? While the government is so corrupted. No respect for human right in that country at all. What a big lost for Africa.
