The Togolese government officially launched on Wednesday, an offline mobile application named PassCovidTG , which is intended to make it easier and better to verify Covid-19 passes on a daily basis.
The application, which will be a public health tool, will allow its users to have their covid-19 vaccination certificate, proof of cure as well as their PCR test at their fingertips.
Therefore, anyone in possession of these documents can scan the QR code (of the paper or PDF document) and then store it in the application in order to show it to the controllers at any time. When traveling, the application can be used to check in advance the validity of the Pass in the country of destination.
To this end, “The Government invites all citizens, professionals and travelers to or from Lomé, who have a smartphone, to install the PassCovidTG application and use it to block the expansion of the pandemic ”.
Moreover, it should be noted that no internet connection is necessary to use the PassCovidTG application, according to the government.
The app is available for free on Google Play and the App Store.
As a reminder, Togo’s digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate is officially recognized in the 27 Member States of the European Union.
